We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer on behalf of our client, a leading UK-wide Fire and Security Systems company. The role focuses on service calls, planned preventive maintenance (PPM), and reactive maintenance of fire alarm systems across the company’s business contracts.
Job Overview
1. Position: Field Service Engineer (Fire Alarm Systems)
2. Location: South West – covering areas near North Bristol/Gloucester/Chippenham OR areas near Andover, Winchester, Salisbury, and Southampton
3. Salary: £32,000 - £34,000 per annum, plus call-out payments and overtime
4. Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (approx. 1 in 4 weekend call-out rota)
5. Type: Permanent (PAYE)
Key Responsibilities
1. Undertake service calls and perform PPM and reactive maintenance on fire alarm systems.
2. Respond to emergency call-outs and effectively diagnose faults.
3. Complete all service documentation in line with BS5839 and company policies.
4. Build and maintain strong professional relationships with customers.
5. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Qualifications and Skills
1. Previous experience in fire alarm systems maintenance is essential.
2. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
3. Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
4. Good organisational skills, including time management and prioritisation.
5. Valid driving licence and willingness to travel within the designated region.
6. Applicants should reside within a reasonable driving distance of the coverage area.
