Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Portsmouth Salary: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Full-Time GSL Education are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to work at a vibrant and inclusive school in Portsmouth. The SEN Teaching Assistant role involves working with students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, providing tailored support and adapting learning activities to meet individual needs. You will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure each student receives the best possible support. Your contributions as a SEN Teaching Assistant will significantly impact the children’s confidence, independence, and progress in school. Responsibilities: Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning to SEN students as a SEN Teaching Assistant. Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with specific needs. Help with classroom management and adapt activities to support individual learning styles. Encourage student participation and engagement in lessons. Support the social, emotional, and behavioral development of students as a SEN Teaching Assistant. Collaborate with the wider school staff and parents to ensure student progress. Maintain a safe and positive learning environment. Requirements: Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant is desirable but not essential. Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, or NVQ, are desirable but not essential. A positive, compassionate, and patient attitude when working with children with additional needs. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team. Willingness to contribute to the wider school community and support all students.
