Description David Chipperfield Architects’ (DCA) London office is looking for a temporary (6 months) Communications/PR coordinator to help support the Communications and New Projects team. DCA has established a strong reputation for the quality of its international projects and for the way it communicates its work. Through both internal and external communications activities, the Communications Team works to ensure this reputation is maintained and developed to address and engage the evolving ambitions and context in which practice operates. The role is to help implement and support the Communications strategy that spans public and media relations, project communication, and an internal events programme, while also supporting New Projects as required. Key Responsibilities Media relations and project PR You will be responsible for keeping our internal visual archive of historic and current projects up to date. This will involve coordinating with the project teams to get up-to-date drawings, photographs and visualisations, curating a selection and uploading them to our shared database (OpenAsset). Monitor, file and share media coverage, including social media, ensuring the office is updated regularly and aware of industry-wide conversations that may impact the work of the practice. Manage the media inbox, flagging and sharing press and speaking requests while nurturing good working relationships with journalists through fast, effective responses. Provide editorial support for external communications ensuring consistent content and tone. Manage social media content for Instagram and LinkedIn. Assist with PR tasks, such as award submissions and updating the contact database. Internal communications and design culture You will be an active part of the team creating an engaging internal talks and events programme that responds to the practice’s work and strategic ambitions. Oversee the studio library and magazine subscriptions, proposing new books or journals to enhance the creative office culture. Help with archiving including scanning and cataloguing historic press cuttings. Work with the Knowledge Management team to improve internal communications tools, such as the office intranet. Networking and external engagements Manage event and conference requests including proactively researching and identifying appropriate speaking opportunities for DCA London staff. Prepare briefing material and presentations for external engagements, supporting with presentation material. New Projects support Support with bid submissions, adapting standard texts and CVs for specific potential projects. Support New Projects research efforts into potential projects and clients. Adapt portfolios for use in client presentations, using Adobe InDesign and OpenAsset. Inputting new projects contacts into database. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Personal Qualities We're looking for a dedicated and highly organised individual with strong time management skills, capable of prioritising tasks effectively to meet deadlines. You should be a confident communicator, able to clearly convey ideas and collaborate with others while demonstrating exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in all aspects of your work. Skills Required Proficiency in writing and having an interest in architecture and its communication is essential. While having experience in developing and executing media and PR strategies within the built environment sector could be advantageous. Having familiarity with Adobe Suite, OpenAsset, and Craft CMS is desirable.
