Job Summary
Are you looking to learn and train in a new direction to make a difference? You don’t have to be a doctor to transform lives…
The Role
At Via, we care about helping people overcome substance misuse and we feel that employment goes hand in hand with recovery. Our award-winning IPS Into Work teams support people to find meaningful employment that aligns with their ambitions so that they have a platform to build a brighter future.
You will have an opportunity to learn, train and develop as an IPS Employment Specialist and join the wider team in Surrey to provide a holistic employment support service to people across the geographical area.
Do you want to do something meaningful and help others? If the answer is yes, apply and start your career with Via!
The Service
Individual Placement and Support (IPS) is an evidence-based employment support model that helps individuals with a background of substance misuse find work that aligns with their wellbeing. IPS is being expanded across the country with a commitment to have a service in all local authorities by 2024-2025.
The role is extremely rewarding, and you can make a lasting positive impact! A normal week will be:
1. Working closely with the team to carry a small caseload to support people in achieving their dreams through personalized employment support.
2. Collaborating and contributing with wider teams including recovery practitioners, nurses, support workers, and community organisations to encourage referrals.
3. Learning effective employer engagement strategies to have quality contacts with a range of employers.
We require a passion to help others and a desire to contribute back to the community. This is an entry-level role and you will be given training to support your transition into the workplace.
Here are a few quotes from service users that have transformed their lives through our help:
“I had been drifting and my confidence had sunk… IPS helped change my life”
“I got the help that I was looking for… I found work after 17 years of being unemployed”
