Our client is an upstream Operator currently recruiting for the permanent position of Maintenance Technician, based in the Aberdeen office with an offshore trip required potentially for 1 week per month.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage instrument department work scopes from identification, work order creation, material requisition, planning, and execution. Identify and raise any necessary planned maintenance change requests.
2. Ensure safe and efficient operation and optimisation of all instrumentation and associated systems.
3. Execute routine maintenance, including preventative and corrective maintenance on instrumentation systems.
4. Deliver the 7-day plan and contribute to planning activities, taking responsibility for plan attainment.
5. Utilise the electronic CMMS system SAP to detail tasks and history.
6. Calibrate various instruments, conduct routine tests of plant ESD systems, and use inhibits/isolations to prevent unplanned shutdowns.
7. Read P&IDs, C&Es, loop diagrams, vendor documentation, and generate logs/reports/handover notes.
8. Work safely and competently on equipment within hazardous areas, recording inspections on Intrinsix.
9. Create permits, isolations, and operational risk assessments as part of their role as PA within the Proscient system.
10. Operate a wide range of equipment including Fire and Gas Systems, Hydraulic Systems, Telecoms, and IT Equipment.
11. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, training as Banksman Slinger, performing light mechanical repairs, and documentation duties.
Qualifications & Requirements:
1. A recognised qualification such as S/NVQ 3 in Instrument and Controls, with experience working on unattended installations and familiarity with control systems like ABB or Honeywell.
2. Ability to compile technical reports and drawings related to operations.
3. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
4. Experience with SAP or similar maintenance management systems.
5. Proactive, flexible, and able to manage workload effectively.
6. Knowledge sharing and a collaborative attitude.
7. Self-motivated with ownership of work quality.
8. Strong leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills suitable for a multidisciplinary environment.
