Methods Engineer – Rock-Filled Dam Project | Swindon
Location: Swindon | Contract: 3 Months (Initial) | Hybrid Working (3 Days Office Minimum)
Morson Talent is proud to be working with a leading infrastructure client on a flagship rock-filled dam scheme based in the Swindon area. We're currently seeking an experienced Methods Engineer to support the project through the next key delivery phase.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity (outside IR35) with flexible hybrid working arrangements — three days per week in the office.
Role Overview:
As a Methods Engineer, you'll work closely with both the Engineering and Delivery teams, focusing on material specifications, quality standards, and technical assurance. Your expertise will play a critical role in ensuring material compliance with environmental, safety, and sustainability requirements across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
* Interpret and assess project specifications and environmental requirements.
* Advise on material selection, testing strategies, and logistics planning.
* Lead the coordination of material approvals and documentation (including ITPs).
* Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders on material assurance processes.
* Support tendering, procurement, and subcontractor management activities.
* Assist in developing and implementing testing strategies and QA/QC procedures.
* Engage with the environmental team to meet carbon reduction goals.
* Provide technical advice across Civil, MEP, and HV works.
What We're Looking For:
* Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Proven background in materials engineering within Civil or Infrastructure projects.
* Experience with materials testing, assurance processes, and document control systems (e.g., Aconex, BIM360, ProjectWise).
* Sound knowledge of CDM Regulations and industry standards.
* CSCS qualifications desirable.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
