Working as part of a team of environmental test specialists, the successful candidate will contribute to the provision of a comprehensive environmental testing service, working with customers across a wide range of industry sectors. The successful candidate will contribute to and often initiate efficiency improvements, many of which will include the management, manipulation, and presentation of electronic test data for reports.
Key responsibilities:
1. Conducting climatic and mechanical environmental testing to relevant test standards, regulatory requirements, and defined test plans.
2. Working closely with customers during attended testing.
3. Recording test results using various electronic logbook systems and production of test reports, following company quality procedures.
4. Liaison with customers relating to the specification and conduct of tests and the interpretation of the results.
5. Close liaison with the test supervisor to ensure work is carried out accurately and within the timescales allowed.
6. Helping to develop and refine test plans with the customer.
7. Help with the development of test methods and other departmental documentation.
8. Working with the team to implement continuous improvement activities and develop procedures and processes to improve the efficiency of the testing service.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Practical experience of delivering climatic and/or mechanical test services, operating environmental test/shaker equipment.
2. An interest in working in a test environment.
3. Motivated and enthusiastic, with a willingness to learn.
4. Flexible approach to work – willing to work overtime, ad hoc shifts or on customer sites as and when required.
5. Good numerical, logical, organisational and analytical skills.
6. Good understanding of IT systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
7. Ability to deliver work independently or as a team to defined deadlines.
8. Conscientious with good interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and a commitment to delivering the best customer experience.
9. Previous experience in a test house environment.
10. Knowledge of test laboratory quality and operating procedures.
