We are looking for a passionate and empathetic person to support in delivering a Women’s Responsive Service, to be based primarily at The Nelson Trust Women’s Centre, Gloucester.
In partnership with Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust, The Nelson Trust are providing a gender responsive service for women identified as vulnerable who have come into contact with the criminal justice system from point of arrest. This role will involve project development, partnership building and one to one advocacy and support for women who are referred to the service by the Criminal Justice Liaison and Diversion Team.
The post involves providing initial assessment, advocacy, advice, and signposting support to women to break down barriers to achieve change.
You will need to demonstrate good communication skills working with clients and professionals and will have a track record of developing effective partnerships with specialist organisations in the local area as well as a commitment to making a difference to women’s lives.
Lived experience of having been through the criminal justice system, and of mental health, or other associated vulnerabilities is essential, and this should be declared on the application form. Anything that is declared will need to be assessed and considered via the Trust’s Pre-Employment recruitment checks processes before employment can be confirmed.
