Due to team expansion, we are looking to recruit a full time dedicated and experienced administrator to join our friendly team based at Acomb Health Centre, Acomb, York. We are a team providing support to people living in the York and Selby area who are experiencing concerns with their memory.
If you are an individual with experience working in a demanding office environment, who is confident in using IT systems, has experience formatting letters and managing multiple diaries. Someone who thrives in a busy setting and is keen to join a team striving to make a real difference then we are looking for you.
Main duties of the job
Whilst having experience in an administrative role is essential, NHS or other health care experience is not. We are first and foremost looking for a colleague with a passion for helping, who believes in delivering excellent customer service, who has a keen interest in learning and working in a health care setting with a 'can do' attitude.
This role is at the heart of the multi-disciplinary team which means you will work closely with nurses, consultants and management to ensure that they have everything admin wise they need to provide the best possible care to our patients. We are looking for someone who is comfortable multitasking, someone who can communicate confidently, build strong working relationships with a variety of people. Someone who can prioritise their workload and who is genuinely interested in understanding and supporting the challenges that mental health care brings.
Your main duties will be to promote compassionate care, booking assessment and diagnostic appointments liaising via the phone and through written correspondence. This position has a starting salary of £24,071 which rises to £25,674 (pro rata), per annum after 2 years and a generous NHS pension scheme. You will work with as part of a team of administrators to deliver comprehensive admin support. As a valuable member of the team, you will be expected to attend regular meetings to improve your knowledge and understanding of the services. You will also be required to minute meetings and keep accurate records and input accurately to the patient database. If successful, you will be supplied with a job plan and a fully supported induction.
