Job summary These fixed term posts have been created to provide additional cover of the medical specialties' rotas on a long-term basis. The posts will mirror UK junior doctor training and there will be provision to extend with a rotational pattern based on service requirements. The team may extend thereafter based on service requirements. The successful candidates would be provided with an opportunity to work with one of several departments (based on Deanery rotation changes), which may include the following: Respiratory, Emergency medicine, Acute/ITU, Infectious Diseases, Care of the Elderly, Haematology, Cardiology, Dermatology, Diabetes & Endocrine, Renal and General Internal Medicine. The majority of these postings will be within UHCW, Coventry but if there is a rotation based out of Rugby St Cross hospital, which is also part of the allocations them there is a free shuttle bus available from our Coventry site to St Cross. Main duties of the job Take ongoing responsibility for patients under their care. The appointees will be required to work with colleagues on a rotational basis across medical specialties within University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with medical colleagues and participate in regular clinical meetings and other post graduate activities. Participate in the on-call rota covering the wards and acute medicine on an equal basis with colleagues to ensure that appropriate emergency services are provided out-of-normal working hours. This out of hours work will entitle the doctor to an additional banding of salary. Develop and maintain good communications with General Practitioners and appropriate external agencies. Demonstrate a firm involvement in Clinical Governance, Risk Management and Clinical Audit - this will include the development and maintenance of appropriate systems and practices to ensure continued safe clinical practice. Ensure own practice is up to date; this will include taking responsibility for own Clinical Professional Development and participating in the Trust's Performance and Annual Review system. Share responsibility for data protection arising out of the use of computers. Comply with all relevant Trust Policies and Procedures.
