Stansfield Place is a 12 bedded male mental health rehabilitation unit based in Rochdale. We are currently seeking to recruit a band 5 staff nurse on a permanent contract to complement the experienced staffing team that is already in place. You will be part of a thriving ward which is committed to providing a high level of quality care to the patients we work with. We offer a comprehensive preceptorship package to newly qualified nurses to support you in starting your nursing career as well as other mandatory and non-mandatory courses to support and enhance your development and clinical skills. The successful applicant will be expected to work day and night shifts, weekends and bank holidays.
Main duties of the job
Role Summary: You will be an integral part of the team providing direct care to patients with a variety of mental health problems. To act as the named nurse with responsibility for the overall care of an identified group of clients. To regularly act as shift co-ordinator ensuring the smooth running of the clinical area and best utilisation of resources available, with support from senior staff.
Key Responsibilities of the Post:
1. You will be involved in providing a high level of safe and effective care.
2. Be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
3. Adhere to all Trust policies, procedures and guidelines.
4. Liaise with the multidisciplinary team.
5. Provide mentorship to others.

Education / Qualifications
* Registered Mental Health Nurse Qualification
* Have completed supervisor and/or assessor training
* At least 12 months experience of working as a qualified nurse
Knowledge
* The Mental Health Act 1983 and Code of Practice.
* Understanding of equality and diversity

* PMVA

* Experience of working within a mental health setting
