Job summary
We are looking for one full time booking clerk to join our Ophthalmology team.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience within our CAU Booking team. Dealing with new referrals, managing waiting lists and helping with patient queries as part of a busy department based in a large Acute Hospital Trust.
Working Monday - Friday, we can be flexible with shift patterns.
The Head and Neck Directorate accounts for over one third of the Trust's outpatient activity and this team is a key Department within the Trust in ensuring we provide a high quality and timely service to our patients. You will be working closely with other team member, the medical secretaries, clinicians and Management Team to ensure patients are managed appropriately.
Main duties of the job
You will need to have excellent customer care skills and we will provide training for you to gain a thorough understanding of the Trusts access policy and the national 18 week RTT pathway which will provide an excellent basis for building a career working in both Acute and Community services in the NHS.
Previous Healthcare administration experience would be advantageous but not essential, as would experience using Microsoft Word and Excel. We can offer you a supportive, friendly working environment where you will gain experience of hospital administration in a busy department.
