The Role - Special Needs Teacher
For this Special Needs Teacher role, you will be working with a range of SEN children and will be developing and implementing individualized education plans. This will require collaborating with other professionals such as therapists and psychologists. You will take on general teaching duties and will need to build a strong rapport with the students while creating a warm and nurturing classroom environment. In this role, you will deliver differentiated instruction and will need to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN. You must modify the curriculum and lesson plans to ensure accessibility, using different teaching styles to help students grasp concepts. You must hold QTS.
The School - SEN School
This SEN school is based in Southwark and caters for a range of SEN students aged 11-19 years old. They are committed to continual improvement and high-quality education within an open and welcoming environment. The range of disabilities requires the contribution of a multidisciplinary team with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and special school support assistants, all working cooperatively with the teaching staff to meet the individual needs of the students.
