Liquid Personnel is currently recruiting for a Social Worker to join the Children in Care (CIC) Service as an Enhanced Practitioner. This role involves conducting procedurally compliant assessments and section 47 enquiries to identify levels and types of risk or need based on documented evidence. The practitioner will record and analyse information gathered during social care assessments in line with case recording policies, local and national guidance, and best practice principles. Additionally, they will create clear plans addressing the issues identified for children in Doncaster, ensuring these plans are informed by a thorough understanding of legislative principles, current research, emerging case law, and best practice guidance. Engagement with children, their carers, and families is a crucial aspect of this role. The Enhanced Practitioner will work to understand their circumstances, wishes, and feelings, forming conclusions that direct longer-term interventions focused on the child’s best interests. They will also be involved in taking and recording children’s contacts and referrals, contributing to a comprehensive understanding of the issues being referred, the urgency, the level of risk or need, and the necessary actions in individual cases. The role includes assisting in the provision of court statements and preparing reports required by courts and other bodies in connection with children’s services. Collaboration with colleagues and other agencies is essential for this position. The practitioner will provide social care advice and interventions across Doncaster Council and all agencies, prioritising tasks based on urgency and levels of risk or need to ensure children’s safety and well-being. They will contribute to the team’s functioning by supporting colleagues, advising less experienced staff, and engaging in established processes. Additionally, the practitioner will participate in multi-agency meetings and forums, contributing to effective cross-agency working. Professional development is also emphasised, with the practitioner expected to engage in developmental supervision, critically evaluate their practice, and stay updated on emerging case law, research, and best practice guidance. They will also provide information, guidance, and advice on local services and practices relevant to working with children, young people, and families.
