Job Description
Data & Reporting Governance Analyst
Location: Thorpe Park Leeds, Hybrid Working, Flexible Working options available.
As Data Governance and Reporting Analyst, you'll be working within the Data Governance Team, performing a variety of tasks that will ensure the data community have confidence that the data used in our everyday decision making, is accurate. Your role is to ensure key data sources are robustly monitored, issues are promptly resolved, and reports are centrally produced.
Your role will include:
Ensuring key sources of data are accurate, governed and understood by:
1. Usage of key Metrics and Definitions stored in DWH is monitored to ensure access is only available to the appropriate people
2. Use SQL Tooling to understand the content of complex data sources and manipulations.
3. Ensure the quality of data points are maintained and automatically governed. Monitoring is in place to highlight data quality issues
Support the Data and Reporting Governance and wider Data Teams by contributing to the implementation and adherence of Data Issue resolution processes:
1. Provide feedback to the Data Teams on any data quality issues
2. Using SQL and PowerBI to build prototype Metrics, Dimensions and Dashboards
3. Use SQL data mining to understand the data being used
4. Use SQL to rebuild manual reports in an automated manner
5. Use Power BI to visualise reporting based on consistent data
What we need from you:
1. Proven experience in data analysis and data quality assessment in a business outcome driven environment
2. Knowledge of data quality tooling
3. Ability to build and maintain effective, cohesive working relationships with stakeholders
4. Understanding of broader data management capabilities and alignment with business goals
5. Proven experience using data quality specific tools used for data discovery and assessment.
6. Experience with Data Governance Tooling
7. Good experience of using SQL for data mining and trending across multiple, large complex datasets
8. Experience of Data issue identification and resolution
9. Experience of coding in Python
10. Experience of PowerQuery & PowerBI
