About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to oversee the construction of a steel frame chemical plant extension on a live site. This role requires a highly competent professional with a strong background in industrial construction, particularly within live and high-risk environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage all site activities, ensuring the safe execution of works in a live chemical plant environment. Oversee the construction of steel frame structures, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry regulations. Plan and coordinate project activities, including site logistics, temporary works, and interface management with the live plant. Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations (CDM, COSHH, and COMAH where applicable). Manage subcontractors, direct workforce, and liaise with client representatives and key stakeholders. Conduct regular site inspections, toolbox talks, and risk assessments to maintain a high safety culture. Oversee quality control, ensuring all works meet regulatory and client requirements. Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedule adherence, reporting to senior management. Maintain accurate site documentation, including RAMS, permits to work, and progress reports. Key Requirements: Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager on industrial or chemical plant projects (live environment experience essential). Strong knowledge of steel frame construction and experience managing large-scale structural works. In-depth understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation, particularly within high-risk sectors. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to liaise effectively with clients, consultants, and subcontractors. Proficient in project planning, scheduling, and reporting. Experience managing temporary works, lifting operations, and heavy plant coordination. SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, First Aid at Work, and relevant safety qualifications. Desirable: Previous experience working on COMAH-regulated sites. NEBOSH or IOSH qualifications. Knowledge of BIM, digital construction tools, and project management software
