Are you passionate about supporting patients with chronic respiratory conditions? We are seeking a Physio Technician/Assistant to join our Community Respiratory Service in Hounslow. This role offers a chance to work alongside expert physiotherapists and nurses, delivering high-quality care through our Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Home Oxygen programs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support physiotherapists in delivering Pulmonary Rehabilitation across Hounslow.

* Educate patients on breathlessness techniques, energy conservation, and quality of life improvements.
* Work with the multi-disciplinary team to prevent hospital admissions and aid recovery.

Main duties of the job
As a Physio Technician/Assistant in our Community Respiratory Service, you will play an essential role in supporting patients with chronic respiratory conditions. Working alongside physiotherapists and specialist nurses, you will assist in delivering Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs and supporting Home Oxygen patients across various sites in Hounslow.
Your role will involve helping patients build confidence in managing their breathlessness, assisting with exercise sessions, patient assessments, and progress monitoring, and providing education on self-management strategies. You will work directly with patients, offering guidance on breathing techniques, energy conservation, and symptom control to improve their daily lives.
We are looking for proactive, patient-focused individuals with strong communication skills, a compassionate approach, and a willingness to learn and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications
* Good level of general education (GCSE or equivalent)
* Evidence of continuous development
* Care certificate
* Foundation Degree in Health & Social Care/NVQ Level 3 or above or equivalent
* Attendance on Assistants Training Programme.
* Recognised qualification in relevant subject.
Knowledge & Experience
* Previous experience in NHS, Healthcare or Social Care
* Working with patients who have multiple diagnoses including stroke / patients with neurological conditions
* Working within multidisciplinary team
* Experience carrying out rehabilitation programmes
* Basic competency in mobility assessment, equipment provision and understanding of patient centred care
* Knowledge of aids and equipment used to promote independence
Skills
* Able to communicate clearly and accurately, verbally and in writing, to a wide range of people including users, colleagues, carers, and managers
* Ability to prioritise tasks and organise time effectively
* Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary team but also as an autonomous practitioner
* Ability to work with people with cognitive impairment
* Basic computer literacy/competency
* Good organisational skills
* Ability to work independently without direct supervision
* Ability to work in stressful environment with distressed, emotional or aggressive patients /carers

* Able to drive and have use of a car for work
* Able to navigate around the Borough and other Trust sites using own car
