We have an opportunity available for a Full Time Occupational Therapist to join the team at Ashwood Court based in Warrington, Cheshire WA3 2RB.
Salary: £42,293 per annum
To provide an Occupational Therapy Service within a rehabilitation unit within MakingSpace. To be responsible for providing a person-centred occupational therapy support for people with severe and enduring complex mental health needs, learning disabilities and other associated disabilities including behaviours that challenge. To plan, implement and deliver assessments and ongoing evaluation of care and intervention for these service users.

* Active HCPC Pin Registration number
Job responsibilities
1. To carry out the Occupational Therapy process with service users: including standardised and non-standardised assessment of occupational performance, client centred goal setting, implementation of intervention and evaluation of progress using outcome measures.
2. Conduct initial assessments at hospitals and in the community with potential new service users when referrals are made to the service.
3. To support service users to develop their skills and increase their independence; subsequently improving quality of life.
4. To support Health Care Support Workers with the provision of activities and delegate tasks as appropriate.
5. To oversee the use of the rehabilitation kitchen.
6. To be involved in the risk assessment of service users when attending activities in the community to ensure it is suitable for the individual and all potential risks are managed.
7. To work closely with the MDT, including attending professionals meetings to ensure appropriate support is provided to service users when discharged.
8. To work closely with psychology staff to ensure service users occupational and psychological needs are supported appropriately.
9. To involve patients and carers in the planning of care programmes and encourage self-management where appropriate.
10. To have a basic level of knowledge of support services within the community and to build links and networks with community organisations, to facilitate service user involvement in community activities, courses and volunteering.
11. To demonstrate responsibility and leadership for promoting and championing all aspects of equal opportunities by valuing diversity in all areas of work.
12. To take responsibility for ensuring and achieving the objectives of the Making Space Health and Safety Policy.
13. To undertake any other duties in order to meet personal, team and organisational objectives following consultation with your manager.

Experience
* Ability to work autonomously with individuals and groups
* Knowledge and understanding of activity/occupation in relation to mental health and well being
* Ability to deliver on targets
* Application of Occupational Therapy models of practice and evidence based practice
* Knowledge, understanding and application Occupational Therapy process relating to client centred practice
* Demonstrate sound techniques in applying range of sensory, physical and manual assessments and treatments
* Ability to analyse tasks and activities, synthesise findings and develop goal orientated treatment plans.
* Understand and apply principles of risk management to clinical practice
* Up to date knowledge of national initiatives and legislation relating to health and social care
