Bank staff vacancies
An opportunity has arisen at our busy setting to become a member of our bank staff. To provide a high standard of care for children aged 2-7 years in a stimulating environment, supporting the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, within the Pre-school and Holiday Club. Ensuring inclusion, diversity, legal and safety requirements are met in line with the settings policies and procedures. Applicants should preferably be qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent although this is not a requirement. Applicants must have experience in working with children aged 2-7 years.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
1. To ensure the children are cared for in a happy, safe and stimulating environment.
2. To play with and support children’s development towards their individual next steps at our setting under the guidance of the management team.
3. To carry out domestic duties, and to be involved in the preparation and cleaning up of snacks and activities.
4. To share anything relevant observed whilst working with a child to their key person.
5. To liaise with parents/carers in a professional manner at transition points and direct them to senior members of staff when required.
6. To encourage positive behaviour by presenting yourself as a good role model and following our behaviour management policy.
7. To report to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or a deputy DSL in their absence of any safeguarding concerns, accidents or incidents and to ensure that any such incidences are recorded appropriately.
8. To undertake all relevant safeguarding training so that you are educated in the procedures for keeping children safe and well.
9. To be aware of and adhere to the groups policies and procedures.
10. To attend meetings and appropriate training courses and support fundraising events which fall outside of normal working hours.
11. To ensure confidentiality at all times following our settings confidentiality agreement.
12. To be aware of the high profile of the setting and to uphold its high standards at all times of care and education.
13. To report any health and safety concerns, follow risk assessments made in setting when working both inside and outside and reduce risks whenever possible eg. cleaning up spills, putting toys away etc..
14. To update the management team of any changes to circumstances to health, home, ongoing suitability etc.
15. Have a willingness to provide cover for staff absence at short notice whenever possible. This includes cover for wrap around and holiday club when appropriate.
A DBS service check will be required for this position. A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process. Any job offer will be conditional and be subject to the receipt of two satisfactory references.
Initially this role is for relief staff, term time only with occasional work in holiday club if needed.
Hours: Bank/Cover hours Monday- Friday within our opening hours of 7:30-5:30
