Due to retirement within the Acute Tissue Viability Service, we have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Tissue Viability Specialist Nurse to join us on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will work as part of the existing Acute Tissue Viability team as a Specialist Nurse providing highly developed wound care advice and assessment, delivering education, developing practice, and undertaking audit and research, primarily supporting Patient Safety and Pressure Ulcer prevention.
An understanding of the pressure ulcer prevention agenda and National Wound Care Strategy together with a passion for wound care and experience in developing and delivering educational packages would be advantageous. The successful candidate will be supported to develop their Tissue Viability skill and knowledge in a friendly and nurturing environment. Experience as a Tissue Viability Link Nurse or WREN and recognized qualification in wound care would be beneficial.
The post holder will be required to cover the service across the CDDFT region. Informal discussions are advised.

Main Duties of the Job
The Tissue Viability service is a nurse-led expert advisory service, providing specialist evidence-based advice and education on complex and non-healing wounds. We provide advice to patients, families, carers, and healthcare professionals.
To provide and support the Tissue Viability Specialist in the provision of the Tissue Viability Service. As a member of the Tissue Viability Team, assist in the development of a quality, proactive, evidence-based tissue viability service.
Within the focus of Tissue Viability, the post holder will:
1. Participate in the development of nursing practice within Tissue Viability and contribute to the body of nursing knowledge.
2. Take a lead role facilitating the planning and evaluation of care for a designated group of patients.
3. Provide specialized education and training incorporating best practice, national and local recommendations in relation to wound care.
4. Support CDDFT in validating Pressure Ulcer prevalence.

Qualifications
* Degree Level education.
* Teaching qualification / Mentorship 730/998 or equivalent.
* Research experience.
Statutory Registration
* Registered General Nurse Level 1 with valid current NMC registration.
Experience
* Post-registration experience in a clinical setting.
* Experience undertaking audits.
* Experience of data analysis.
* Good working knowledge of tissue viability in an acute hospital setting as well as a community setting.
* Experience with topical negative pressure, wound debridement, larvae therapy, and complex wound management.
* Administrative and IT skills.
* Experience as a Tissue Viability nurse or experience as a Tissue Viability link nurse (WREN).
* Experience of report writing.
* Experience delivering presentations.
Special Requirements
* To work autonomously and travel across sites.

Salary: £37,338 to £44,962 a year pro rata per annum.
