We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Solicitor to join a prestigious law firm in the heart of Manchester. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of legal principles and be adept at providing sound legal advice to clients. This role requires excellent negotiation skills and the ability to represent clients effectively in various legal matters. The Solicitor will work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored legal solutions. The company works with private clients and does not do any legal aid cases.
The role
1. Give clients thorough legal advice about their rights, possible defences, and the legal ramifications of their circumstances.
2. To create a strong defence, do in-depth case analysis and research.
3. Defend clients in court at bail hearings, plea negotiations, pre-trial conferences, trials, and sentencing hearings. You won't be expected to attend any court proceedings because your position is office-based, and you will direct outside counsel to appear in court.
4. Communicate on cases and work together on legal strategy with barristers.
5. Work along with other experts, including investigators, psychiatrists, or forensic specialists, to make any defence plan stronger.
6. Respect the legal profession's ethical norms, uphold client confidentiality, behave in the clients' best interests, and follow professional guidelines and behaviour regulations.

Competencies and abilities
1. A minimum of one year's worth of experience managing your own caseload, defending in court, and handling guilty and not guilty pleas.
2. You need to have previous experience managing your own caseload from start to finish and working with clients.
3. Self-assured communicator with outstanding grammar, spelling, and attention to detail, both in writing and over the phone.
4. Strong negotiating abilities to properly represent clients.
5. Familiarity with Proclaim, or a similar case management system.
6. Strong IT skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
7. Outstanding analytical abilities for gathering, comprehending, and sharing knowledge.
Qualifications
1. Qualified Solicitor with PQE experience
2. Law Degree
