Environmental Advisor CELSA UK Cardiff CF24 5NN Up to £35,000 5% bonus As an Environmental Advisor at CELSA UK you will directly support one or more of our operational units with their Environmental Management Systems (EMS) compliance and permit requirements. You will be the main point of contact for the manufacturing areas, ensuring EMS are maintained and managed across our sites in Cardiff and our scrap yards across the UK. Day to day you will be ensuring that the EMS duties and requirements are implemented with the support of our Environmental Manager. Key Tasks & Responsibilities To ensure specific areas (i.e. up to 2 operational areas of either, Meltshop, Mineral Site, Circular Hubs, Rod & Bar Mill, or Sections Mill) remain compliant and certified to ISO14001 To collate and analyse environmental data Escalate concerns to the Environment Manager, including permit breaches Supporting the collection of information for investigations into permit breaches and environmental incidents Lead and run the environmental compliance meetings with the relevant areas Challenge and support operational areas to deliver their environmental actions in a timely way Coach operational teams on the requirements of the EMS and Environmental Permit Regulations (EPR) Deliver specific environmental training and awareness to employees External stakeholder engagement through collation and publication of reports Planning and scheduling of contracted environmental site work Undertake site audits, EMS audits and duty of care contract audits Facilitate site audits and certifications with internal and external stakeholders Write, review and update procedures inline with document control policy Support the operational units with compliance to the EMS for allocated operational areas Responsible for ensuring clear and specific advice is given to the operational teams on compliance with environmental legislation and requirements directly affecting the areas operations Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Good knowledge of ISO14001 Management System Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages Experience in relevant industrial industry Practitioner member of IEMA would be desirable Behavioural Competencies The Environmental Advisor must be able to challenge, and set a sense of urgency when required Self-motivated, and has a passion for the environment Be able to prioritise and escalate issues as required Develop positive relationships with colleagues as the supplier of an internal service Ability to demonstrate CELSAs values This role will require a full UK driving license Youll be joining a recycling company we recycle scrap metal into new steel products.
