What is the role?
Guided by your mentor, you will develop your understanding of the application of sport science principles to elite football, as well as how teams and staff come together to support development and solve performance problems.
What will you be doing?
You will be part of an interdisciplinary team, providing professional strength and conditioning support for all SFC players. You will be assisting with the design and delivery of athletic development programmes in collaboration with strength and conditioning and wider performance staff.
You will have the opportunity to develop your understanding and support with:
* On and off pitch long term athletic development
* Prehabilitation and session preparation programmes
* Supporting end stage rehabilitation
* Load monitoring and reporting (including GPS technology)
* Physical testing and profiling (on and off pitch)
* Implement nutritional and recovery strategy
This placement MUST form part of your overall degree programme for you to be considered.
Is this you?
Essential qualifications
* Studying for a BSc in Sports Science or equivalent with sandwich year
Essential Experience
* Applied knowledge of anatomy and physiology
* Knowledge of field and gym-based training
* Experience coaching sports and strength and conditioning
Desirable Experience
* Experience in a team sports setting as either a player or coach
* Tertiary gym-based qualification
