Manager, Planned Care, Cancer & Diagnostics

Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Planned Care Team at NHS Sussex ICB as a Manager. The post holder will support Senior Managers and the Heads of Planned Care to ensure that all acute programmes are planned and managed effectively. The post holder is expected to take a lead in assisting in their successful delivery. They will:
1. Play a key role as a team member in the commissioning and transformation of pathways and services and the management of provider and system performance, relevant contracts and improvement programmes and projects.
2. Manage the business support function within Acute Services, including developing and managing the teams business plan, progress and reporting risk and issue management.
3. Liaise with appropriate representatives from providers and other stakeholders.
4. Manage corporate business returns, including planning and workforce returns.
5. Develop and implement a content management system to ensure information is properly managed and best practice is shared across the team, Directorate, and the wider NHS organisation.
6. Take a lead in the coordination of training & development and recruitment activity across the Team.
7. Oversight and management of all aspects of the Team managed provider budget.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Educated to masters level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in specialist area.
* Evidence of continued professional development.
Experience
* Significant experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment.
* Demonstrated experience of co-ordinating projects in a complex and challenging environment.
* Experience of managing risks and reporting.
* Experience of monitoring budgets and business planning processes.
* Understanding of the public sector.
* Demonstrated experience in a Healthcare environment.
* Knowledge of Financial Systems e.g., monitoring budget management, processing invoices and procurement.
* Experience of setting up and implementing internal processes and procedures.
Skills and Capabilities
* Comprehensive knowledge of project principles, techniques, and tools, such as Prince 2 Foundation and Microsoft Project.
* Demonstrated capability to plan over short, medium, and long-term timeframes and adjust plans and resource requirements accordingly.
* Ability to prepare and produce concise yet insightful communications for dissemination to senior stakeholders and a broad range of stakeholders as required.
* Experience of creating and giving presentations to a varied group of internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to analyse very complex issues where material is conflicting and drawn from multiple sources.
* Demonstrated capability to act upon incomplete information, using experience to make inferences and decision making.
* Numerate and able to understand complex financial issues combined with deep analytical skills.
