MPI have a permanent role for a Composite Technician/or Aircraft Fitter to be trained on Composites, to be based at RAF Brize Norton, Carterton, Oxfordshire, OX18 3LX.
You will be working Full time hours, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week (7.30 – 17.00)
9-day fortnight (25 days stand down days per year)
25 days leave plus 8 bank holidays.

Main Accountabilities:
1. Current working knowledge and experience of laminating and trimming composite materials, including but not limited to, Carbon fibre and Fibreglass wet layups, vacuum bagging, hot bonder curing, damage assessment, scarfing, honeycomb core replacement, surface preparation and adhesive preparation and use.
2. Competency to operate workshop machines and hand tools.
3. Interpret and work from engineering drawings, technical manuals, and work instructions.
4. Functional IT skills to access technical information and maintenance records.
5. Document all work performed and maintain accurate records.
6. Collaborate effectively with other team members and departments to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output.
7. Ensure that all repairs and rectification tasks are correctly certified and that records of maintenance carried out are correct and complete.
What you need to do the job:
1. Working knowledge and experience of laminating and trimming of composite materials.
2. Will have successfully completed a recognised BTEC/ONC/NVQ Level 3, or equivalent, or military course in Advanced composite repairs.
3. Previous experience in Armed Forces or industry on composite manufacture, maintenance, or repair activities.
