Senior Care Assistant (Days)

I am working with a privately owned care group who have a 41 bedded residential care home in the Walkeringham area. The home is a converted 19th century barn set in the beautiful countryside and has a large, landscaped garden which provides a peaceful backdrop for residents. Their fundamental mission is to provide care of the highest quality, giving comfort and friendship within a homely atmosphere while respecting and being sensitive to the individual needs, wishes and choices of residents.
They are now looking for an experienced Senior Care Assistant to join their friendly team.
You will be required to:
• Lead the shift and support team members to ensure all staff put service users’ needs first and are always providing excellent care
• Ensure staff supervisions for all care staff and ancillary staff are carried out
• Attend and contribute to meetings / handovers to maintain communication between all levels of staff
• Promote good practice in care, and challenge any poor practice
• Ensure that all staff training needs are met and that staff are supported through the supervision process
Essential Requirements for Senior Care Assistant:
• A relevant professional qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• The ability lead a team
• Minimum of two years’ experience as a Care Assistant in residential / nursing home setting
• Experience in administering medication
• Live within 30 minutes of the home
• The ability work day shifts (7am-7pm) on a rota basis
• To ensure knowledge is gained to demonstrate a good understanding of the prevention of abuse of vulnerable adults, recognition of the signs of abuse and procedures to follow in the event of an allegation of abuse.
