The Major Trauma Centre (MTC) at UHNM accepts patients from Staffordshire, Shropshire, South Cheshire, and North Wales, following life-altering injury. We treat over 1200 patients per year, under multiple specialties, crossing all areas of inpatient care. Data from all patients on the MTC pathway is collated and submitted to the Trauma and Audit Research Network (TARN) for external validation. The primary purpose of this post is to be responsible for identifying and capturing patients and information required for national reporting to TARN in line with predefined requirements and set timescales. Ensuring timely, detailed, high-quality, and accurate data capture of all patients suffering major trauma, including identifying patients previously not known to the trauma service. Working with the MTC team and clinicians to share and investigate patient episodes where appropriate.
