A vacancy has arisen for an Engagement and Learning Officer to join the Poverty Alliance’s Living Wage Scotland team. The post holder will work on a new project called “Pathways to Progress”, which aims to enhance job quality in Social Care.
The right person for this job will have significant experience and knowledge of managing a variety of stakeholder relationships, will be a confident communicator with strong facilitation skills and will have a sound understanding of the Social Care employment landscape in Scotland.
Above all, we are looking for a dynamic, passionate individual with a clear commitment to social justice and engaging employers in actions that can help address poverty.

A vacancy has arisen for an experienced social researcher to join the Poverty Alliance’s busy and impactful research team. We are looking for a new Research Officer, who will work on a new project called “Pathways to Progress”, which aims to enhance job quality in Social Care.
The right person for this job will have significant experience and knowledge of conducting and managing qualitative research, preferably in an applied research context. You will have excellent knowledge of a range of qualitative and participatory research methodologies and methods. Alongside a sound knowledge of current issues and trends in relation to poverty and inequality, you will have experience of research focused on delivering real social change.
Above all, we are looking for a dynamic, passionate and committed individual, who not only wants to understand the nature of the social challenges we face but wants to change them too.

We are now recruiting for a 12-month fixed term full-time Communications Support Worker (Storytelling) role. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with relevant skills and experience to join a friendly, hardworking, passionate team keen to make a difference to our communities.
Working across Corra, with the Policy and Communications Team, the postholder will deliver communications activity which supports Corra’s communications strategy, including developing and producing stories from Corra’s funded work alongside communities, producing social media content, communication packs, newsletters and website content, as well as designing and delivering events.
The role will support the continuous development of our communications strategies, ensuring our communications are accessible, engaging and have impact, as well as supporting the wider Corra team to implement the communications guide and policies. Duties also include looking after systems and records, and liaising with suppliers including designers, web designers and photographers.
The role will require someone who has experience of producing social media content and copywriting, as well as working or volunteering in a communications role or similar. Excellent interpersonal skills, relationship building and communication skills, a willingness to learn, excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise, and a commitment to Corra’s ‘ways of working’ principles and supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Fauldhouse and Breich Valley Community Development Trust are looking for an experienced and qualified Development Worker to lead, develop and implement (with support) our Mental Health and Wellbeing Project. The successful candidate would work with the F&BV CDT team to address a range of issues which have an impact on the mental health and wellbeing of people living within our communities. The post holder would provide support, advice and encourage local people to participate in (supported) 1:1 sessions, self-help groups, projects and initiatives.
The Development Worker will take a lead role, using a person-centred approach to support individuals on a journey of self-help to improve their mental health and wellbeing. To enable people to achieve the outcomes they want, rather than outcomes defined or prescribed by others. It will be important for the Development Worker to encourage the inclusion of local people and local volunteers, who have lived experience to support the project.
The post holder will be supported by the team and Trustees to ensure that meaningful partnership working, networking, and sign-posting services are enhanced and further developed locally. The successful candidate would need to understand the impact of health inequalities and have demonstrable skills in working with people to achieve their health and wellbeing goals. They will be confident in working with individuals and communities to understand local needs and issues.
F&BV CDT would welcome applications from individuals who are passionate, enthusiastic, and innovative. Among other things, it is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to develop a range of support, activities, local resources and services for those who may be feeling lonely, isolated, living in poverty, or excluded from community life.

Through our pioneering Pooled Services model, we provide high-quality business support in finance, legal, marketing, and business development, allowing ventures to focus on impact without the overheads of costly in-house teams.
Following a successful pilot with a select group of clients, we are now entering a crucial growth phase scaling pooled services into a national offering that will support social enterprises across Scotland. This is an exciting moment to shape and lead a transformative service.
Role Overview
The Director of Venture Support Services will drive the strategic development and growth of The Ventures Lab’s pooled services. This role requires a strong balance of strategic leadership, operational oversight, and stakeholder engagement to ensure high-quality service delivery and long-term sustainability.
A key part of this role will be building and leading a team to deliver high-quality business support services. The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting, managing, and developing a team of professionals to ensure seamless service delivery.
Additionally, the Director of Venture Support Services will develop a network of professional partners across various sectors and disciplines, securing a community of trusted advisors, pro-bono experts, and service providers who are committed to supporting purpose-led businesses through volunteering, discounted services, or strategic collaboration.
Growth Targets
In 2025, The Ventures Lab aims to recruit 20 new businesses into the pooled services model. From there, we plan to grow by a minimum of 50% year on year, steadily increasing our reach and impact. The Director of Venture Support Services will play a crucial role in achieving these targets by ensuring the model is scalable, effective, and financially sustainable.
