We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role Salary: Negotiable dependant on experience What you’ll be doing: Review supplier documentation Bring design to test facility, bringing equipment to life and setting to work Overseeing Verification and validation activities to ensure alignment with the technical requirements, supporting the integrations and testing phases as needed Identifying opportunities for risk mitigation and capturing evidence that requirements have been fulfilled Working closely in collaboration with test engineers and equipment designers to define, document, and refine system requirements Assisting in the development of operational scenarios and capturing the within the requirements set to ensure that all functional and operational needs are met Ensuring that all requirements and engineering activities comply with engineering management plans and industry best practices Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders Your skills and experiences: Essential Experience in developing a C&I design for a large scale C&I system ensuring it meets a wide range of requirements, such as functional, defence standards, industrial standards, etc. Experience with managing non-functional requirements (i.e. EMC, shock, etc.) meeting industrial compliance Experience of authoring and/or reviewing design documents, such as I/O schedules, functional design specification, functional chronicle, interface control document, etc. Proficiency in systems engineering methodologies, particularly in requirements development, V&V planning, and interface control Degree level qualification (or equivalent experience) in relevant STEM subject (Engineering/ Physics/ Maths/ Science) Benefits: As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts – you may also be eligible for an annual incentive. The Electrical Compatibility Test Facility team: As a Principal Engineer, you will be involved in the verification and validation of the power system through compatibility testing of equipment and power system analysis. You’ll be part of a wider multidisciplinary electrical team who’s responsible for delivery a high integrity electrical power system.
