The project:
Working for the UK's leading port network, we have an opportunity for a senior commercial manager to join the team on this new project. You will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of the business area including supporting pre-contract and operations, managing commercial risk and opportunity, ensuring accuracy of forecasts, and adhering to all commercial reporting procedures.
Supporting the delivery of the port's projects by providing pre-award, procurement, and post-award contract administration support, monitoring compliance with contract obligations, and driving value from the supply chain.
Provision of a "cradle to grave" commercial function for all work packages making up the commission.

You'll be responsible for:
* Conducting feasibility studies, advising on procurement strategies and contract selection, writing and undertaking procurement reports.
* Applying value management techniques at the outset of a project.
* Managing, estimating, and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
* Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
* Being a key interface with clients, stakeholders, and other consultants at all project stages.
* Handling contractual frameworks and standard forms of contract.
* Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates, products, and hence improve the services provided to the clients.
* Identifying and acting upon ways to improve internal systems and processes.
You'll need to have:
* A degree in quantity surveying/cost management or equivalent along with previous experience in a cost/commercial consultancy practice in a similar role and experience working with highways projects/frameworks.
* You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships, and lead strong, motivated teams.
* You will have a construction or project management background and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
