Temporary Corporate Support Officer/Admin

Pay Rate: £12.49 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours
Role Length: This opening assignment is for 1-2 months

The purpose of the role is to undertake a range of administrative functions which include: sorting and distributing post, scanning and indexing correspondence, downloading from portals, and printing for our internal customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide generic administrative duties across the Post room, Printing and Scanning team to ensure excellent delivery of customer service.
Sort and open Royal Mail post in line with procedures ready for distribution. Complete signed for records and advise customers of their receipt.
Process correspondence/electronic communications i.e.: scanning, indexing, and importing documents and data as required for Revenues and Benefits to meet the service needs, including eClaims.
Download Planning Portal applications on a daily basis and process necessary documents ready for validation of application.
Scan and upload public comments on a daily basis in line with Council’s data protection, redacting personal and confidential information.
Scanning and indexing of complete / archived planning and building control applications.
Process prints and copier unit requests in the agreed timescales.
Daily printing of letters and invoices for all departments and processing letters produced by remote workers.
Packing large mail outs using the folding inserter equipment.
Checking outgoing mail to ensure it meets Royal Mail standards and it is addressed to a UK residence.
Frank overseas and large mail items for posting.
Qualifications:
Good standards of literacy and numeracy, including written and spoken English; and GCSE-level mathematics functions.
Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
Experience of prioritising and organising work to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external customers.
Experience of working in an administration environment with practices with regard to customer care.
Experience of delivering excellent customer service in the work place.
Knowledge or experience of design and print.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
