This firm has several offices across the Devon area, offering an extensive legal service to businesses and individuals both locally and nationally. They are recognised as the leading law firm for several niche sectors and acting for trade associations puts them at the cutting edge of legal developments affecting those businesses.
On our client’s behalf we are looking to recruit a Litigation and Employment Paralegal, on a full-time, permanent basis to work in their Exeter office plus remote working also available.
The Role:
The firm’s team of litigators acts for a wide range of clients from individuals, businesses, charities, hotel chains and housing associations. The team has experienced advocates who can represent clients in action in for example, the High Court and District Registries, the local County Courts, and Tribunals.
The team is expanding and requires a paralegal to join them. The role will be particularly suited to a candidate who has experience of, or an interest in, property litigation. You will also be exposed to other areas of the team’s work including contentious probate, general civil litigation, and construction disputes.
Your standard responsibilities will include fielding initial enquiries, onboarding new clients, dealing with emailed or telephone client enquires, taking proofs of evidence, document and bundle production, general case management, research tasks, creation of marketing materials such as legal Insights and assisting the team’s lawyers generally.
The team works partly from home and partly from the office and meets regularly for training and general team building. The client is happy to discuss flexible working arrangements although initially you will be office-based in Exeter to help you familiarise yourself with the team, the work, and the support available to you.
Skills and Experience required:
* Experience gained from a similar role, with the ability to demonstrate a genuine interest in contentious work.
* You will be confident in communicating with clients and, under lawyers’ direction, will be comfortable ensuring that clients have the information they need if the lawyers are engaged elsewhere.
* You will be very well organised and will enjoy organising others.
* You will have a ‘can-do’ attitude and will be happy to adapt to the requirements of the tasks facing
* Ideally you will be able to demonstrate your problem-solving skills and how you have used these in your previous positions.
* An ability and a willingness to work as part of a team with the aim of achieving a common goal would be essential.
