The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational performance and strategic development of the gastroenterology service. This will include accountability for high quality patient care, patient safety, clinical quality and governance, the delivery of agreed performance and financial objectives, and ensuring that the service operates with the needs of patients as its highest priority. The role holder will also be responsible for undertaking direct clinical work in the gastroenterology service by providing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients within the gastroenterology pathway.
