We are looking for a Senior Sales Engineer to join our dynamic, fast-paced Energy Storage team. The preferred location for this position is within the UK or Finland.
What will you be doing?
As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will be the subject matter expert for Energy Storage in the Africa and European Union (EU) regions, including expertise in the technical design of systems and identification of the business models that support the economic case to deploy storage.
The ideal candidate has a BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering / Power Engineering and experience with the energy storage and renewable energy markets.
Responsibilities:
* Work closely with the sales team to identify and engage with key customers/accounts within the area, and support and maintain relationships related to Energy Storage
* Manage RFP response process including determining bidding strategy and partner selection, working with partners to submit winning responses, and drafting proposals
* Lead proposal creation for energy storage projects
* Write proposal content tailored to customer requirements and highlight unique value points for the integrated solution
* Create high-level and detailed system design drawings, layouts, schematics
* Specify system components, calculate ratings and quantities, and create detailed bills-of-material for cost estimates
* Interface with vendors to understand their products and determine suitability for applications or projects
* Utilize value concepts and tools to define the right value solutions for each customer
* Assist in the development of Sales Tools for energy storage
Qualifications:
* BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering / Power Engineering or equivalent experience
* Minimum three years of experience in energy storage and renewable energy markets, projects, and products
* Strong understanding of utility generation project development
* Experience with industrial control methods and SCADA systems is a plus
* Ability to read and understand system schematics, single-line, and layout drawings
* Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
* Proficiency with drafting tools like ACAD or equivalent
* Knowledge of standards such as CE, UL, IEEE, IEC, and NEC as applicable to the region
* Knowledge of utility systems and interconnection requirements for electric generators
* Passion for innovation and adaptability to market changes
* Ability to work independently and in a team
* Willingness to travel (10-20%)
* Existing relationships with regional EPCs, Developers, or IPPs are advantageous
