Description About the role Support the Spaceport and Aerodrome Operations Manager (SAOM) in all aspects of aerodrome management within the department’s scope, to ensure that all aerodrome operations procedures and practices are adhered to so that all users of the aerodrome do so in a safe and compliant manner. This includes oversight of activities of non-scheduled services such as but not restricted to, FBO, Spaceport Operations and General Aviation so that these activities can operate in parallel with commercial traffic. The role will play a key part in the day-to-day running of the Aerodrome Operations Department and in so doing, supporting the airport’s wider commercial business. A key component of the Spaceport & Aerodrome Operations department, the post holder will make a major contribution in implementing and improving safety standards across all airport users, through the departmental team, in line with the Aerodrome and Spaceport Operations Manuals. • Contributing to and maintaining data and procedures which will contribute to Aerodrome and Spaceport Operations, in line with CAL and Spaceport Safety Management Systems. • Supporting the SAOD in maintaining the airport Vehicle & GSE Management Database by updating service and purchase information to include the required service schedule. • Processing AVP applications for vehicles as a result of service completion. • Assist in the maintenance of Aerodrome Inspection schedule and records. • Support the SAOD with coordination of on-aerodrome special projects or events as required and as directed by the Airport Executive. • Act as a central point of contact for Aerodrome usage bookings such as engine ground runs and military aircraft exercises. • Fulfil the role of Spaceport Coordinator during spaceflight launch campaigns as appropriate. • To carry out any other task, within personal capability for the operational purpose of the airport and/or as requested the airport executive.
