Our Apprenticeship programme offers the opportunity for both face-to-face and virtual training to learn the skills and knowledge required for the role. You'll pick up the ropes from a role model who you will shadow and work with for the duration of your apprenticeship. As an Apprentice with us you'll be fully supported to achieve a nationally recognised qualification by the end of apprenticeship with Air Liquide. You will attend college which is funded by the business and the remainder of the time you will be fully supported by an experienced member of the team, learning all about how we deliver outstanding service, making you an expert in your field. We'll also assign you a buddy and assessor to guide you through your day-to-day tasks. Being part of the cylinder maintenance team the role entails the preparation and inspection of pressure cylinders and cylinder bundles in accordance with international standards and used for the transportation and supply of pressurised gases. As part of your development and through the application of acquired theoretical and practical knowledge the role will provide the opportunity to become a qualified inspector. You will also get first hand exposure to the operation and management of an accredited Inspection Body including aspects such Impartiality, Structure & Organisation, Resource Requirements, Processes & Methods and Management Systems. In attaining key skills and knowledge you will contribute to the development of the cylinder maintenance capability which in turn will contribute to development of the overall business strategy and performance. Your duties will include: Depressurise and de-valve cylinders Automate Cylinder Surface Preparation and Painting Line Re-valve cylinders Build multiple cylinder bundles Conduct inspection of cylinders in accordance with relevant international standards and the company procedures including Internal and External Inspection Hydrostatic Testing Non-Destructive Ultrasonic Testing Inspection Body operating requirements and management Are you a MATCH? Minimum Level 4 in Maths and English A practical and engineering mindset. Ability to interpret drawings, instructions and technical documents. Use of measuring equipment such as micrometres, callipers and optical inspection devices. Attention to detail. Responsible attitude. Good standard of health and fitness. Good eye-sight.
