As a BIM Manager you will take the leading key role in setting and implementing the design and delivery process as well as an important role in the implementation of the project execution strategy, ensuring all BIM outputs are produced to a high standard.
The BIM Manager is part of the Engineering Directorate and is accountable for BIM implementation on every project, as well as line management responsibilities for the Modelling Team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the management of personnel within the BIM team, which includes BIM coordinators, document controllers, and GIS specialists.
* Assist BIM coordinators and project information engineers in the successful implementation of all BIM requirements for projects.
* Deliver in-house training to BIM coordinators on ISO19650 and Common Data Environments, ensuring that all staff are well-versed in these processes.
* Define EGIS’ BIM/Digital Strategy and establish our ISO 19650 accreditation for Transportation in the UK.
* Define a BIM implementation plan and road map to reach BIM Level 2 to ISO1950 series (including programme).
* Ensure BIM processes and protocols for input data management and external deliverables / published documentation.
* Produce BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and Digital Strategies.
* Define collaborative process and procedures (including 2D and 3D clash detection).
* Review tenant information to ensure accurate and consistent model information.
* Ensure all data generated by Egis personnel meet individual project requirements set out in both Exchange Information requirements (EIR) and project BIM Execution Plans (BEP).
* Establish systems for clash avoidance, internal model audits and clash detection for project submissions.
* Evaluate software and hardware needs for project deliverables.
* Define approach to project modelling (2D - 3D), train, develop and support team members.
* Coordinate the CAD/3D model and establish agreed workflow.
* Ensure that 3D Models and GIS are integrated into both project and company requirements.
* On projects, the BIM Manager will report to Project Directors and/or Design Leads, depending on project size / workload.
This role may also include working on projects internationally for EGIS Transport Solutions or other EGIS subsidiaries.
Profile
Key experience:
* BIM Manager / Senior Technician with at least 10 years’ experience in major infrastructure/transportation projects.
* Proven capability in managing design interfaces, integration processes and defining a project's Digital Strategy.
* Experience of working in an engineering production environment.
* A railway, transportation or construction background.
* A clear understanding of our multi-disciplinary design approach and the delivery of projects to a high quality, throughout all design stage gates.
* Good knowledge of UK design standards, such as Network Rail, HS2 and TfL.
* Experience of Implementing BIM Level 2 Accreditation / Certification to ISO 19650 within a Business Environment.
* Track record of mobilizing teams to ISO19650 on project kick offs.
* Experience producing and maintaining BEPs, Task Information Delivery Plans (TIDP), Master Information Delivery Plans (MIDP) and Model Production Delivery Tables (MPDT).
* Excellent understanding of all relevant BIM standards, design integration procedures and relevant legislation.
* Experience of using the following software:
o Bentley Signal Sighting
o Bentley OpenRail Designer
o Bentley OpenBuilding Designer
o Synchro
o REVIT
o Civil 3D
o Navisworks
o TopoDOT and/or other similar software.
* Knowledge of Dynamo/similar, and ability to write scripts.
* Experience of working in a Project Coordination role.
* Excellent leadership skills and mentoring experience.
* An ability to train and upskill team members.
* Ability to use modelling and analytical tools to demonstrate reduction and/or elimination of health and safety risks in the design process.
* Experience of supporting the organisation to build and grow successfully.
