About the role:
The post holder will contribute to the delivery of a repair and maintenance service across our customer base. The postholder will work across various activities, from small repairs to refurbishments. To be successful, the postholder will adopt a positive attitude towards health and safety and welfare, nurturing a positive culture and ensuring full compliance with policy and our guiding standards.
You will be expected to:
1. Provide a repairs service across our customer base that meets the agreed standards for health and safety, adopting a proactive approach to resolving repairs and improvements.
2. Carry out maintenance and minor repairs as requested from a PDA and report to a work planner any other repairs out with your own skill set.
3. Ensure repairs are addressed within the agreed timescales, recording all materials and for some clients listing the schedule of rate items to ensure work undertaken is accurately recorded.
4. Attend as a front-line service to repairs and maintenance works, working with occupied homes and respecting the environment.
5. Undertake inspections and routine repair works to empty homes and operate as part of a team to ensure that the turnover to a lettable standard is met.
6. Assist in the out-of-hours service through a work rota, making safe and reporting follow-up works.
7. Attend to working at height assist tasks, supporting the repair and maintenance to roofs, gutters and elevation treatment.
8. Work on repairs to estates, from fencing renewals to the installation of signage within common parts.
About you:
You must:
1. Have joinery skills, city and guilds or at least five years time served.
2. Preferably be PASMA and LLOLER qualified.
3. Have a clean driving license.
4. Be capable of working independently and within a team.
5. Be self-motivated and capable of motivating the team.
6. Have the ability to organise and measure up work activity and record on tablet/PDA.
