A little more about your role...
Your role reports into the National Head of Business Rates and the Commercial Director, with interaction with key stakeholders from around the business.
In more detail, your role involves:
1. Supervision
o Overseeing the invoicing process for the Business Rates team.
o Working closely with revenue controllers and business support to ensure all billing requirements and deadlines are achieved for the team.
o Overseeing pass-through costs and Purchase Orders for the team.
o Overseeing WIP, forecasting and mid-month Flash reporting for Business Rates team.
o Managing a team to deliver the month-end financial targets.
2. Proactive Management of Billing Process
o Preparation of client invoices in accordance with instructions from Directors/Fee Earners, including sending out invoices for client projects.
o Ensuring that invoicing meets all statutory/legislative requirements.
o Maintaining database integrity.
3. GL Hearn's information management system (GLHIMS)
o Proactive management of the billing process (including interaction with fee earners/directors to work to strict deadlines).
o Management of sub consultants' invoices/processing etc - raising POs and maintaining spread sheets for fee earners - highlighting anything outside of normal trading to the SMAs so it can be forecasted.
o Produce relevant financial reports to Directors/Fee Earners as and when requested.
o Working closely with our joint agents (pass-through) so they can invoice promptly on major contracts.
The Rating team at WSP GL Hearn is a highly skilled and specialised group, dedicated to providing exceptional Rating and Valuation services to clients in the commercial real estate sector. With an in-depth understanding of the complex rating landscape, our team combines extensive industry knowledge with strategic insights to deliver accurate and insightful assessments.
We pride ourselves on our ability to navigate changing regulations and market conditions, providing clients with the expertise they need to optimise their property portfolios and minimise their tax liabilities.
We'd want to hear from you if you have the following:
* Proven billing co-ordination experience.
* An accounting qualification (AAT or similar).
* Previous working knowledge of preferred or other time recovery solution.
* Good knowledge of Excel (formulae, pivot tables, Vlookups minimum) and working knowledge of other MS packages.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Experience in operating Work in Progress (WIP).
* Proven ability to self-motivate and be innovative and a drive to deliver to a high standard.
* Confidence meeting and working with Directors.
* Confidence in liaising with finance team and providing financial support both to the business and the Finance Manager.
* Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work produced.
* Willingness to travel, if required, to other WSP offices.
