Our People team supports and drives continuous improvement in people-related issues across our Retail and Commercial Business Units. As a People Consultant, you’ll use data and insights to build a picture of emerging trends which will influence and shape strategic priorities. You’ll address urgent, complex, and value-adding needs, building capability and embedding the HR Model.
You’ll use your breadth and depth of HR knowledge to drive customer centricity and resolve operational needs. Working collaboratively with the Strategic People Partners, you’ll support the progression of the people agenda and the achievement of people metrics across the business.
At AXA, we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team, and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home at either our Bristol, Bolton, or Glasgow office, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients, or attending industry events.
What you’ll be doing:
* Dig deeper into business challenges, ask meaningful questions, and understand more about its impact. Provide advice and challenge to support delivery of results.
* Use data to make informed decisions and recommendations, proactively engaging with the business and taking remedial action to address areas of concern.
* Work alongside People Services to provide advice and guidance on more complex issues. Promote and direct managers to self-service solutions.
* Support cyclical People operations, e.g., performance management, pay and bonus, engagement surveys, etc.
* Provide expert advice and coaching to managers to build their knowledge, skills, and behavior. Ensuring consistent policy application and effective running of the performance management process.
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the business, working with key stakeholders to drive people metrics forward, upskilling People Leaders to provide better outcomes.
* Support the implementation and continual improvement of the HR Op Model by building out processes, infrastructure, and governance.
What you’ll bring:
* HR professional with a broad understanding of all HR-related subjects.
* Understanding and interpreting employment law and policies experience.
* Experience of analyzing data/people metrics and identifying trends impacting business performance.
* Effectively consult with People Leaders and build line management capability.
* Experience of working in a fast-paced organization and delivering customer-centric solutions.
* Ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity.
* Creative and innovative approach to problem-solving with the ability to develop clear, actionable steps to drive resolution.
* Strong understanding of the people processes, policies, and systems.
* Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorized to work in the United Kingdom.
