Reference: 386e97ff To provide support to access the community in activities suitable for a 7-year-old child who has a diagnosis of ADHD. We are currently looking to recruit a Support Worker/enabler to provide support for a 7-year-old. The support is required to enable this child to access the community with meaningful activities and engage with other children of a similar age. This young child enjoys woodland walks, visiting the beach and Air Box bounce. A pushchair and reigns may need to be used on occasions. Support is required: · 4 hours per week, every Sunday 12 – 4pm x term-time · 4 hours per week Wednesday and Friday 12 – 4pm in all school holidays x 13 weeks MAIN DUTIES · Support to access activities in the community and explore groups which can offer a meaningful and enjoyable time or outside adventures. · To provide personal care as and when required and to assist with changing. You must be able to drive & have own car. You will be required to provide a business certificate for your insurance. Rate of pay £13.09 per hour. Holidays are 5.6 weeks per year, pro-rata Person Specification Successful applicant must: Have some experience working with children who have disabilities and sensory processing disorder would be an advantage. Have a genuine interest in working with children with complex needs and developmental delay. An understanding of non-verbal children and how to read body language and behaviours. Have a high degree of initiative. Be punctual and reliable as the child cannot be left unsupervised. Be flexible. Respect confidentiality. Car driver essential and must have business insurance. An Enhanced DBS Check is required, cost to be met by Northumberland County Council.
