DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The post holders duties will be phased in line with assessment based on skills, knowledge, experience and competence gained throughout the duration of the apprenticeship.Over the duration of the apprenticeship, the successful candidate will be trained to become competent in the below list of duties. Installation of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systemsThe post holder will, where required make modifications to existing systems, ensuring the work is undertaken to a high standard in line with relevant standards and regulations.The post holder will install, test and commission systems to an agreed design, ensuring relevant test and commissioning documents are completed. 4. Use of building management systemThe post holder will be required to operate building management systems, being able to make changes to set points, understand and rectify active alarms states to ensure that all monitored systems are working within agreed specifications.5. Use of technical manuals and drawingsThe post holder will be required to use building O&Ms and manufactures literature to ensure systems are maintained in line with relevant standards and regulations.The post holder will be able to read and understand technical drawing to identify and rectify system faults.6. Use of information technologyThe post holder will be required to use information technology during their duties a) producing reports for operations and maintenance supervisorsb) locating technical literature where requiredc) communicating with management and customersd) use of mobile device for facilities management software 7. Use of hand and power toolsThe post holder will be required to use hand and power tools throughout the course of their duties.The post holder will be able to use these tools safely and in accordance with standard operating procedures, risk assessments and manufacturers literature.8. Competent personThroughout the role and in preparation for the role of multi-skilled maintenance technician, the post holder will be required to gain the qualification of competent person for various disciplines such as medical gases, low voltage electrical systems and water systems in line with Health Technical Memorandums10. Record keepingThe post holder will be required to maintain records of work completed, ensuring that documentation is completed in a tidy and timely manner. Completed documentation, where required will be returned to the supervisors to ensure that it is readily available for future use. 11. CommunicationThe post holder will be required to utilise a varying degree of communication methods suitable for the situation.a. clear verbal communication will be required amongst staff, patients and colleagues.
