About Job:
Develop, lead, and implement the business development strategy in alignment with the company's overall strategic plan. This includes focusing on the growth of new customers and pursuing profitable new markets and clients in targeted sectors. Contribute to all aspects of business development to support the commercial success of the business. Drive new business development by identifying strategic sales opportunities, securing new clients, and managing client relationships through to successful closure. Oversee marketing strategies and tools designed to generate leads, and acquire new clients.
Lead cross-organizational projects aimed at fostering new business opportunities and driving growth.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* Strategic Planning & Execution: Plan, organize, and execute activities within the designated area to achieve the shared objectives of FMP effectively.
* Project Management: Report deviations from project requirements and take corrective actions to ensure alignment with set goals.
* Performance & KPIs: Actively work towards achieving established objectives (KPIs) to measure success and drive performance.
* Business Growth: Implement business development strategies that maximize competitive advantage, drive new sales, and align with business goals. Support the creation of processes that foster business growth and contribute to tracking and communicating new business developments across the company.
* Networking: Build and maintain relationships with key industry players and partners. Cultivate key networking opportunities to generate new business leads.
* Lead Generation: Stay ahead of market trends, identifying new business development opportunities, potential business partners, and emerging markets.
* Sales Sector Development: Expand existing sales sectors and foster the growth of emerging markets through sales, business development, and management efforts. Contribute to business development plans and manage relevant areas of responsibility.
* Compelling Proposals: Collaborate with the proposals team or lead proposal efforts, ensuring the integration of key win themes for successful outcomes. Support or lead post-tender presentations and negotiations to achieve optimal results for the business.
* Customer Focus: Deliver exceptional service by understanding customer needs, offering solutions with integrity, and providing high-quality recommendations. Resolve customer issues promptly and effectively.
* Customer Relationship Management: Develop and nurture long-term business relationships with stakeholders to strengthen market position. Manage customer relationships throughout the sales life cycle and beyond.
* Market Analysis: Assist with market analysis, providing insights into market trends and competitors. Share relevant information with key stakeholders to inform business planning.
* Product/Service Development: Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure customer needs are met. Work closely with clients to design and implement solutions that improve client ROI and company profitability. Identify cross-selling opportunities to expand client relationships.
* Sales Culture Development: Support and promote the desired Sales and Customer Relationship culture within the company.
* Marketing: Develop and execute a targeted marketing strategy to drive growth with current customers and attract new clients in alignment with the business plan.
* Leadership: Motivate and guide employees towards achieving shared goals by demonstrating credibility, honesty, and leadership by example.
* Teamwork: Foster positive relationships within the team and across the organization. Contribute to a cooperative atmosphere and increased efficiency. Participate in management team activities, including budget creation, control, and responsibility.
About You:
* Extensive industry experience with a wide network of contacts across key markets.
* A business development qualification or degree.
* Proven track record in business development, sales conversion, and selling based on value propositions.
* Operational experience in sectors served by the company, particularly in customer relations, supply chain, sales, or business development.
* Ability to manage competing priorities and workloads in a high-pressure environment, consistently meeting strict deadlines while ensuring optimal service delivery.
* Strong communication skills, including verbal, presentation, and written proposal abilities.
* Self-motivated, results-driven, and success-oriented mindset.
* Goal-focused with a proactive approach to achieving targets and driving outcomes.
* Demonstrated leadership capabilities in motivating and guiding teams.
* Willingness to travel extensively within the UK and occasionally internationally (if required).
