The client is a very well established children's home based in Enfield specialising in EBD.
They are looking for a number of experienced Residential Support Workers.
As a Residential Support Worker, you will be promoting the personal, educational and social development of young people aged between 11 and 17 in a residential setting. Programmes aim to engage young people, redress inequalities, value opinions and empower individuals to take action on issues affecting their lives, including health, education, unemployment and the environment, by developing positive skills and attitudes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assessing the needs of young people, and planning and delivering programmes.
2. Running residential activities, as well as outdoor education and sporting activities.
3. Befriending and supporting individuals in various settings.
4. Mentoring and supporting individuals to encourage social inclusion.
5. Offering counselling to individuals.
6. Undertaking administrative tasks, verifying information and responding to queries.
7. Meeting, liaising and networking with police, educational establishments, social services, Youth Offending Teams and other agencies to address issues and promote opportunities for young people.
8. Writing daily reports.
9. Helping with general cooking, cleaning, shopping, etc. of the unit.
You MUST have a DBS that's been done in the last 12 months, and have at least 12 months experience of working with Young People with a challenging background in a Residential Setting. Ideally have a minimum NVQ Level 3 in either Children and Young People or Health and Social Care. You MUST also have child protection or safeguarding training.
