A vacancy have arisen in the Strategic Housing and Development Service to join our existing team of Housing Development Officers. The post is temporary, for one year, to cover a post which has been vacated due to a secondment. This exciting and challenging post will work closely with our Housing Development Coordinators on the development and delivery of Council-led new build homes as well as the purchase of new homes from the market - do you have the drive and skills we need, to help create new high quality, affordable homes for Rotherham’s people? As Housing Development Officer, you will: Have considerable experience of working in a housing related environment, preferably within a large multi-functional organisation. Have knowledge of the physical and legal constraints which can affect development and resolving issues to enable sites to be brought forward for development. Have experience of working with technical services, contractors, and utilities companies to resolve site constraints. Demonstrate knowledge of project management techniques and have experience in project support. Experience of managing budgets and having a knowledge of funding initiatives and supporting bid applications Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a wide range of individuals, teams, and organisations to achieve Rotherham’s housing development targets.
