Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Finance Director, based in Aberdeen.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Strategy & Commercial Leadership:
1. Lead the development and execution of the company's financial strategy in line with business goals.
2. Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and board based on financial analysis and projections.
3. Identify and drive commercial opportunities to enhance profitability and growth.
4. Oversee cash flow management, capital structuring, and budgeting to ensure optimal resource allocation.
2. Financial Planning & Analysis:
1. Manage all aspects of financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
2. Produce and present financial reports, including profit/loss statements, balance sheets, and forecasts.
3. Analyse financial data to identify key drivers of business performance and recommend corrective actions.
4. Use high-level Excel for complex financial modelling, sensitivity analysis, and scenario planning.
3. Legal & Compliance:
1. Ensure that the company complies with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
2. Oversee legal aspects such as contracts, compliance, and risk management.
3. Collaborate with external legal advisors on complex matters, ensuring all business activities align with legal requirements.
4. Systems & Process Improvement:
1. Lead continuous improvement in financial systems and reporting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
2. Ensure optimal utilization of financial software, including high-level Excel functionalities, and drive the implementation of any new financial systems as needed.
5. Team Leadership & Development:
1. Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, ensuring high performance and continuous growth.
2. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and personal development within the department.
3. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to align business strategies and finance operations.
6. Board Collaboration:
1. Collaborate with the rest of the board on key business decisions, providing financial insights and risk assessments.
2. Ensure transparency in all financial reporting to the board and key stakeholders.
3. Contribute to strategic discussions and long-term planning as a senior leader of the organization.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
1. Professional Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent experience.
2. Relevant progressive financial experience, with at least experience in a leadership role.
3. Proven track record in financial leadership within a commercial environment.
4. Strong proficiency in Excel for high-level financial analysis and modelling.
5. Experience in managing legal matters, including contracts and compliance.
6. Experience in managing or implementing financial systems.

Desirable Skills:
1. Experience working in the energy sector a positive.
2. Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central advantageous.
