Aureos are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Design Engineer to deliver high-quality Electrical & Power (E&P) designs within the Rail sector. This role requires a seasoned professional with experience in low voltage and E&P design, and a strong understanding of network requirements, to take on critical projects that will impact the future of the industry.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-standard E&P designs for various rail projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards.
* Act as the Design Checker and E&P CRE (design) for assigned projects, ensuring designs meet both technical and safety requirements.
* Lead and manage members of the E&P team, providing mentorship and supporting their professional development.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Civils, Signalling, Telecoms, P-Way, and OLE to ensure successful project delivery.
* Manage the design of Signalling Power, Substation Low Voltage, Building Services, Earthing & Bonding, Low Voltage Station Design/Platform Services, and Lighting.
* Ensure projects meet Network Rail standards, including NR/L2/RSE/02009/01 and other applicable regulations.
* Work within a BIM environment, contributing to the digitalisation of projects.
* Demonstrate detailed knowledge of E&P design software including MicroStation, ProjectWise, Etap, Trimble (Amtech ProDesign), and Relux.
* Maintain a focus on continuous professional development and contribute to a culture of learning.
Required Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in Low Voltage / E&P design within the Rail industry.
* Proficiency in Network Rail E&P design standards.
* Previous experience as a CRE or ability to demonstrate compliance with the performance and knowledge requirements of CRE01 as detailed in NR/L2/RSE/02009/01.
* Experience in working on multidisciplinary projects involving Civils, Signalling, Telecoms, P-Way, and OLE.
* A working knowledge of CDM Regulations (desirable).
* IEng/CEng accreditation with a relevant Engineering Institution, or actively working towards it.
* Experience working in a BIM environment.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present ideas and designs effectively to various stakeholders.

Working Environment
This is a hybrid role, with the office based in Preston Brook. There may be an opportunity to work from offices in York or Sheffield as required.
