Job Content:
1. Provide a technical bridge between Design Engineering and Production Engineering by assisting in the development and transfer to production of new products.
2. Support engineering handover and transfer of new products to production.
3. Review test result data to ensure that actual performance meets expected requirements.
4. Assist in system operations and maintenance activities.
5. Coordinate with management to assess technical challenges and provide action items.
6. Recommend new test techniques and technologies to ensure system performance.
7. Develop test procedures and strategies to carry out system testing.
8. Review and recommend improvements to existing test strategies.
9. Design and develop test fixtures.
10. Configure RF test benches and carry out system calibration and testing as required, including RF signal sources, power meters, spectrum and network analyzers, and environmental test chambers.
11. Analyze and troubleshoot RF test equipment in a timely and accurate manner.
12. Liaise with diagnostic technicians and conduct job training when required.
13. Work effectively in collaboration with mechanical and electronic designers and relevant project managers.
14. Carry out experiments with production and design engineering personnel to identify potential design or process changes that can solve compliance problems, reduce test time, or improve process yield.
15. Oversee and control engineering changes via the ECO/ECN process.
16. Prepare high-quality technical reports and presentations professionally and coherently.
17. Ensure all processes related to product manufacture conform to MIL-STD-883/ISO9000 standards.
18. Inspect and generate reports on incoming materials: circuits, surface mount assemblies, MMICs.
19. Familiarity with MRP & PLM systems (NetSuite & ARENA) for parts lookup and BOM checks.
20. Assemble test pieces and wiring looms, implement modifications to breadboards and prototypes, and solder surface mount components.
21. Review and analyze build faults with Product Engineering and lead improvement projects.
22. Observe and follow all safety regulations when operating machinery, equipment, and tools.
23. Perform other tasks as dictated by business needs.
Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
* Minimum 2 years’ experience within an RF test environment.
* Experience working with RF test equipment and communication systems, familiarity with verification and validation processes, and ensuring test integrity, ideally in an NPI environment.
* Strong knowledge of RF Test Systems and RF instruments such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, AWGs, power meters, RF amplifiers, oscilloscopes, and environmental test equipment.
* Analysis skills and a methodical approach to problem resolution and investigations.
* Presentation and report writing skills.
* Experience in jigging and fixture specification and design.
* Advanced MS Excel skills, including creating charts and graphs, sorting/filtering data, formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.
* Willingness to undergo further training and development if required.
* Ability to achieve UK security clearance.
Education & Training:
HND or Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent, or extensive experience.
