Position Summary : As a Commercial Finance Manager in a multi-site supply chain and logistics company, you will play a key role in driving financial performance across the entire network. Managing a Finance Analyst, you will oversee all financial reporting activities while providing commercial insights and strategic support to senior leadership and operational teams. This role combines technical expertise in financial reporting with a strong focus on commercial activities, including customer profitability, pricing strategies, and contract evaluations, to support decision-making and optimize business performance. Team Management: • Manage and mentor the Finance Analyst, ensuring their professional development and high-quality output • Delegate tasks effectively, review work, and provide guidance to support the delivery of key financial and commercial outputs Business Partnering: • Act as a key financial advisor to senior supply chain, logistics, quality, HR, strategy, finance and IT leaders across the business • Collaborate cross-functionally with senior leadership to ensure alignment between financial objectives and operational goals • Build and maintain strong relationships across the business, working collaboratively with regional and site leaders Strategy Support: • Support multiple long-term strategic initiatives providing financial expertise maintaining clear levels of assumptions, projections and scenario analysis • Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies that align with business objectives • Develop regular reporting to drive challenge and accountability within the project team • Support the prioritisation, standardisation and post investment review of all initiatives against business case proposals Budgeting and Forecasting: • Support the annual budgeting process for both the DC network and central departments • Ensure consistency of approach across the network to develop robust planning targets for the business and its customers • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts, ensuring they reflect current business conditions and strategic plans Financial Analysis: • Management of risks, opportunities and sensitivities to support financial planning and engagement with senior management stakeholders • Lead and provide guidance on financial analysis to support business decisions drawing on financial acumen to provide insights on trends, anomalies and opportunities • Identify and implement process improvements to drive evaluation of existing analytical methodologies • Translate financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders, ensuring understanding and buy-in across all levels of the business • Develop and maintain complex financial models to forecast business performance Reporting: • Lead the BI & MI strategy for financial reporting to ensure value add reporting is being developed and utilised across the network • Collaborate with IT functions to deliver best in class value add reporting • Utilise BI & MI reporting and its associated tools to challenge and focus stakeholders to maximise profitability • Engage with stakeholders to understand requirements for reporting to drive profitability • Act as a key advisor on the core KPI’s utilised within the business to drive and maximise performance Network-Wide Financial Oversight: • Lead the standardisation and improvement of financial processes and reporting across sites to ensure consistency and accuracy • Work closely with all departments (e.g. operations, HR, transport) to ensure alignment of financial and operational objectives • Support change management initiatives, such as system upgrades or new business integrations, ensuring financial considerations are prioritized Technical Competencies: Education • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field is desirable • Professional finance qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA) is required Experience • 5 years post qualified experience • Significant experience in financial reporting and commercial finance, preferably within a multi-site supply chain or logistics organisation • Track record of delivering accurate financial reports and actionable commercial insights • Experience in managing budgets, forecasts, and business partnering with senior stakeholders In return Martin Brower offers career growth opportunities, through training, mentoring and gaining diverse experiences within the business.
