WHAT TO EXPECT
Corporate Affairs & Motorsport chapter owns the communication strategy for the business, ensuring high quality, integrated and impactful communications to engage, align and influence across all stakeholders. That includes internal and external audiences – including the effective management of JLR’s communication channels. The role is a key leadership position in JLR’s global Corporate Affairs & Motorsport chapter, responsible for promoting and protecting the business.
This role has senior management strategic and tactical accountability for internal and supplier communications activity across the global business; developing and delivering communications that support JLR’s strategy. Working alongside the Director of Internal Communications and Executive Office, you will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across the organisation to lead, develop, implement, and support a variety of complex activity to promote and protect the business, ensuring colleagues and suppliers receive communications in a timely and effective manner that deliver against our priorities supports our engagement across the whole organisation.
THE ROLE
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead a global internal & supplier communications team, across multiple locations, delivering targeted messaging, events and campaigns to all JLR employees in line with Our Journey – including Purpose, vision, Reimagine strategy, our transformation, business financial performance and Creators Code.
2. Develop, implement and lead the global internal communications strategy including management and growth of all channels. Measure the efficiency of internal communications efforts through analytics and feedback, and adjust strategies as needed to improve engagement and reach.
3. Protect and promote the JLR corporate reputation by overseeing consistent, timely and transparent messaging to multiple stakeholders. Ensure alignment of all communications across internal and supplier audiences and working closely with colleagues across all corporate stakeholders and channels to ensure our tone and messaging is consistent. Close management of timings is essential to ensure we are always transparent and speak with one voice across all stakeholders.
4. Developing high-level strategic relationships with core cross functional stakeholders to deliver the strategy and develop new opportunities alongside reacting quickly to internal and external challenges.
5. Drive positive collaboration and relationships internally at an operational level to ensure clear understanding and passionate implementation of vital business priorities to support business performance and build brand advocacy.
6. Secondary accountability for supplier communications – Develop and deliver a supplier communications approach and plan in service of JLR Industrial Operations supplier engagement strategy.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Essential Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Personal Profile
14. Significant demonstrable experience of managing large teams across multiple global locations, varied and often complex remit and nature to deliver against strategic communications priorities with strong leadership values.
15. Extensive experience in internal communications, internal culture building and change management with demonstrable success.
16. Previous experience in building and implementing a global internal communications strategy to a complex mix of audiences.
17. Previous experience in building and implementing a global supplier communications strategy to a global audience with focus on protecting and promoting the business.
18. Prior experience of providing strategic advice to Executives and Senior Leaders and presenting to them on a regular basis, alongside creating speeches and other communications.
19. Demonstrable experience of implementing effective internal communications plans for a large complex organisation which deliver impact across multiple channels including management of complex messaging across multiple audiences to protect and promote company reputation.
20. Serve as one of the senior point people for global/Group internal communication during crisis situations, ensuring that employees are informed in a timely and transparent manner. Form part of the working group for crisis preparedness, as well as Crisis Management Team for Group-level crises. And be able to give detailed examples of prior experience.
21. Excellent internal stakeholder engagement with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from across the organisation.
22. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and often out of normal business hours.
23. Proven experience of complex global communication channel management.
24. Strategic thinker, with a broad industry knowledge and strong analytical skills.
25. Proven ability to analyse and create robust strategic campaigns, written communications across all key priority areas.
26. Significant experience of strategic PR & Communications to be able to work closely with our external communications team.
27. Proficient communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
28. Strong knowledge of the JLR business, its brands, competitors, and positioning – as well as technology, manufacturing and/or engineering sectors.
29. Ability to multi-task a high personal workload, balancing delivery of conceptual work with attention to detail and hands on delivery.
30. Proven experience of budget responsibility and driving impact against spend.
31. A resilient individual who has strong influencing and engagement skills, is comfortable working across all stakeholders and can build credibility and trust through experience and personal style.
